what is implantation | what is implantation bleeding|4 stages of implantation | what is implantation in pregnancy | Does implantation mean you're pregnant | what happens during implantation | Difference between period and implantation bleeding
Hope you are doing well, today I have came up with another useful information about a process during very early pregnancy time, which is called "Implantation".
Many of us still do not know what does Implantation mean exactly and what are symptoms of Implantation or when does implantation happen. So, let's begin first by assuming that you are a healthy female with regular period cycles per month .
Now comes the time when you decide to have baby and you try conceive by doing unprotected sex during your most fertile days, obviously now you will wait eagerly for the very next month to find out if you are pregnant or not by wishing that "you do not get your period this month". A missed period- which is of course a very first sign of pregnancy .
Now, let's assume that the time of your due date has come, and you are having mild cramps in lower stomach but no bleeding at all. Till now , you are still happy by assuming that maybe these are the very early pregnancy cramps as you are experiencing no bleeding at all ,mild cramps with no bleeding - which is again a sign of early pregnancy.
Now, let's assume you wake up next morning with a few drops of blood in your panty . Ohhh God ! I can feel how heartbreaking this could be if you are wishing to get pregnant. All your feelings will go down and you must be disheartened by seeing that you got your period. But WAIT !!
Getting a few drops of blood or a little spotting , does not mean that your period has come . Yes you heard it right :) .This could be "Implantation Bleeding"-which is a sign of pregnancy, about which I have read a lot during my first month of pregnancy and gathered much information to tell you guys that what actually happens during implantation.
Firstly, we need to learn "What is implantation" or "What is implantation bleeding" :
There are actually a tons of tiny amazing things that need to happen in your body in order to result for pregnancy, and we does not know all of that. One such process is "Implantation'.
After the sperm & the egg join (conception), the combined cells start multiplying very quickly, moving through one of your Fallopian tube to your uterus. This bunch of rapidly growing cells is called "Blastocyst".
Once this "Blastocyst" reach in your uterus it now has to attach to the wall of your uterus in order to receive oxygen and nutrients from it .
This process of "Blastocyst" attaching to your uterine lining (wall) is called as "Implantation'.
Implantation takes place anywhere between 6-12 days after you ovulate. It is most likely to happen after 8-9 days after conception.
When you are hoping to get pregnant, Implantation is one confirm sign of early pregnancy.
Now let's talk about "What are the symptoms of Implantation" ?
1.Very light bleeding which usually goes away with wiping using a tissue and does not require a menstrual pad can be a sign of implantation bleeding. It is usually very light and generally lasts from a few hours to a day .
2.Cramps which are very mild and not as painful as period cramps and generally occur ocassionally which lasts about a few hours can be a sign of implantation as this could be due to the trigger of pregnancy hormones .
These 2 are the major "signs of Implantation" accompanied with nausea, sore breasts, mood swings, rise in body temperature etc.
Now, when we know that Implantation bleeding occurs almost at the same time of when your regular period will start it could be a little confusing to distinguish between both of them.
So, let's learn "Difference between period and Implantation bleeding "
Now, lastly but the very most important question which comes is "Do all women experience Implantation Bleeding ?"
The answer is NO. Only about 25% of the females , experience implantation bleeding during the early pregnancy time. Also,The amount of bleeding at implantation can vary between women. Some women may not experience any bleeding with implantation, while other women may have bleeding that compares to a light period and lasts one or two days.
In my case, I did not experience any kind of "Implantation Bleeding" during my first month of pregnancy. Implantation Bleeding is what can happen or cannot happen to you, but what is more importatnt you must be aware about it already.
"Implantation Bleeding" absolutely has no connection with how your pregnancy will be in future. Both who get and who do not experience Implantation bleeding have normal pregnancies in future.
So Mommy to be in future, now that you know that "Implantation Bleeding" is a very common part of our body getting ready for pregnancy I hope you will not get panic in future and must also share this information with your friends & family , so that it can help them too.
See you in my next blog, with another useful information about 'Motherhood Journey'...Till then, Take care
Bye!
