Mommies to be...are you getting up in the morning and already feeling  too tired, do you get nausea or a vomit sensation the moment you a inhale strong smell, are your legs cramping below your knees, welcome to the pregnancy phase 1 J

Yes, these are some very common symptoms of early pregnancy months ...You can feel tired all the time, even after having a good meal you can feel really week, mood swings also accompany with all these symptoms.

These symptoms mainly vomiting and nausea which a women starts to feel during the first 3 months of pregnancy, can be determined  as “Morning  Sickness”. This sickness is called as morning sickness, though the symptoms can last all day long.

The time when these symptoms can start showing up can vary from person to person during the first trimester. Some women start feeling these symptoms even before they know that they are pregnant ie, from the first week itself. While, some others like me can not feel any of these symptoms upto 3 months of pregnancy except from some occasional uneasiness that too once or twice in a month.

Some women may feel extreme morning sickness and nausea while others may not experience these symptoms at all. If you are the one who is not experiencing any of these symptoms in first trimester, congratulations ! you’re a lucky one.

But, if you are the one who have already started feeling some of these symptoms from first month of pregnancy, you need to take good care of yourself. It’s not that you are facing something unusual, this is very common among pregnant women to feel these symptoms during early months.

Don’t  worry, your doctor will keep a look for this. Like when I visited my doctor for the second time after I tested positive , she asked me “how are you feeling these days’’, any discomfort or vomiting or nausea? I said, NO....because i was totally happy and fine till date. Doctor suggested me to continue taking the regular dose of folic acid per day which she has prescribed as it will fight against these sickness symptoms in coming months.

Morning  sickness is mainly caused due to the increased levels of pregnancy hormones in our blood. But don’t worry there are ways to get relief from these symptoms about which we are going to discuss in this article further.

Firstly we need to know that “how severely these morning sickness symptoms can affect your health?”

So, in most of the cases the majorly affecting symptom during the early months is nausea or vomiting, this can be so frequent that you spend almost half of the time of your day sitting in the bathroom and puking. Due to such excessive amount of vomiting  you may loose a lot of water from your body and become dehydrated. This can further cause severe weakness which is very dangerous for the developing baby as whatever you are eating you are vomiting it out, and the baby is not able get sufficient  amount of nutrients which he/she requires for it’s proper growth and development.

Now let us talk about some of the measures, which you can apply at home and which can help you fight these morning symptoms and to ease down the complications during the first trimester :-

1.  Never stay empty stomach for a long time-Always make sure that you eat something in evry 2-3 hours, biscuits, nuts, fruits anyting but do not stay empty stomach for long hours.

2. Drink a lot of , lot water- Have a plenty of fluids in the form of water, juices etc so that you maintain enough amount of water in your body to keep you hydrated.

3. Avoid Fried and Spicy food- Fried foods are made with oil, and oily things are very greesy and hard to digest. This can further lead to indigestion and can cause acidity. So, avoid such foods during this time.

4. Include a good amount of fruits in your diet- Fibrous fruits are very good for digestion, and we should have a good amount fruit in our diet.

5. If you feel nausea, have ginger and lemon – Ginger and lemon can be your best friend during this time ! If you feel acidic , having  these can provide you instant relief.

So, mommies to be....take a good care of yourself, and try following the above measures to reduce the symptoms of morning sickness and happily enjoy the starting months of your pregnancy journey!

On this note I am ending today’s blog, see you in my next article with another useful information about a topic related to pregnancy journey, till then take care of yourself.
